They’ve committed to four months of fundraising and training in preparation to get in the ring and literally fight for a cure. Whether their mom is battling, their father has passed or their friend has put up a victory against the disease – they’ve all got a story to tell and they’ve all got a reason to fight. Below you’ll hear from Christian Doskocil fighting out of Camp Get Right.** *Where are you from?* Worcester, Massachusetts *Where did you go to college?* WPI *Did you play any sports growing up?* Baseball and Football *What do you do for work?* Construction Project Manager *Why boxing? Did you ever picture yourself fighting?* For the cause- if someone can fight cancer I can step into the ring to help KOCancer. I absolutely did not picture myself fighting... *Why on earth did you sign up to fight??* I'm grateful that a coworker of mine is a Haymakers for Hope alumni and encouraged me to apply. *You’re stepping in the ring to literally fight for a cure - where are you drawing your inspiration from? How has cancer affected you?* I never had the opportunity to meet my grandmother who was taken by cancer before I was born. Now I have the opportunity to step into the ring and fight for her and all others impacted by cancer. *What is going to be the most difficult thing to give up during your training? (beer, cheeseburgers, time spent watching TV?)* Nighttime dessert Netflix and Chill. Weekend wings and beers. TGIF's Frozen Buffalo Chicken Tenders. *When you’re not throwing punches and training -- what other hobbies/interests do you have?* Spending quality time with my wife and 7 month old daughter.
