In a very intriguing article posted on abc news' website, a team of researchers have discovered that grapefruit juice can reduce the cost of cancer care. While harmful to mix with other medications such as cholesterol and antihistamines, it has been discovered that when mixed with sirolimus, a transplant drug grapefruit juice can help drastically. Sirolimus is naturally absorbed into the blood stream in small amounts, and increasing the dosage had negative affects on patients. Grapefruit juice allows Sirolimus to be absorbed into the blood stream at higher percentages, which has allowed doctors to cut the amounts they are giving their patients. This has cut the cost of paying for the medication from a third to a half. This is incredible research that is helping to lead to a cure of cancer. To read the complete article: Click Here
